Hi friends,
It’s been a little while since our Product Hunt launch, and honestly, we’ve been pretty heads-down building. We didn’t plan to stay quiet for this long, but the truth is… there was just so much we wanted to fix, improve, and create. Now feels like the right moment to step back, share what’s new, and let you in on where we’re headed.
The biggest change: Kawara is now a paid app
This one feels huge to us. After a lot of thought, we decided to move Kawara to a paid subscription model (with a 14-day free trial).
Why? Because Kawara's mission has always been to help solopreneurs grow their businesses. But as much as we care about accessibility, we also need to cover costs and build a community of people who are truly invested in using Kawara to its fullest.
That said, we haven't forgotten what it's like to be resource-constrained. If you believe Kawara can help you but don't yet have the means to pay, please reach out to us on Discord or X. We’ll do our best to make it work for you.
What we've been working on (and learning)
Onboarding
After launch, it became clear that Kawara's concepts weren't as obvious as we hoped. We wanted it to feel intuitive from day one, but we realized that the product still needed some rounds of iteration and people needed a little guidance first. So we built a proper onboarding flow from connecting your channel, to uploading assets, to picking a template.
If you've been with us for a while, you won't see this automatically, but feel free to try it here.
Structure blocks
This was our most polarizing feature. Some people loved pushing it to the max; others found it confusing and overwhelming. What we learned is that flexibility is only useful when it's simple.
So for now, structure blocks are tucked under Customize your own in the newsletter settings. They're still there for power users, but we're nudging most people toward the default templates for a smoother experience.
Goal extraction
This is a small one, but it feels magical. Kawara can now infer your goals straight from your connected channels during onboarding. It's part of our vision of Kawara as an app that just knows what you need.
Templates, templates, templates
This is where most of our energy went. We listened, tested, and refined — and I can honestly say we've never been more proud of Kawara's draft generation.
We now also have a preview feature. Before committing to a template, you can click Preview and instantly see what the output will look and sound like. No more guesswork — you'll know upfront if the style matches what you need.

On a personal note, I've been using the video insight template to write opinion pieces on LinkedIn, and those posts have been performing better than anything I've ever shared before. I even tested it with five friends… none of them guessed it was AI-generated.
Kit integration
Another exciting update: Kawara now integrates directly with Kit.
If you're already using Kit as your email marketing platform (and have access to their App Store), you can now connect your Kit account to Kawara. Once connected, Kawara can send your generated drafts straight into Kit — ready for you to schedule, edit, or publish.

This means no more copying and pasting between platforms. You can go from a YouTube video → Kawara draft → Kit newsletter in just a few clicks. Watch the demo here here.
We're also working on integrating with other email marketing platforms, so stay tuned for more updates!
Wrapping up
Since Product Hunt, Kawara has evolved a ton and so have we. Moving to paid is a big step, but so is everything else we've built along the way.
We're still figuring things out, still experimenting, and still listening closely to you. Thank you for being here, for giving feedback, and for building alongside us.
Here's to helping more solopreneurs grow. 💛
— Eunice & Joy
